It's the season of warmer weather and growth. The winter season seems to be a time of rest or death, while the spring season seems to be a time for growth and development. What is the Lord doing throughout this new season? Why is He putting us through this new season? What is He developing within us? Can we go from a winter rest to a spring growth? What does that look like? Although you may think that the Lord is doing things that are against what you might think is good for you, remember, God is beyond good, God is beyond love, God is beyond grace. Yes, He is these things, but He is greater and much more than these simple qualities. So may you be encouraged that the Lord is doing wonderful things during this season of your life. Be of good cheer as you hold tight to Christ.

by: Huss @ "The Conversation"

A Beginning

The Connecticut Emergent Cohort met for the first time on March 23 in Glastonbury. We are fairly spread out geographically, so we are likely to move our meeting place around to equalize travel time. Our first meeting was spent mostly introducing ourselves and learning about each other and the ministry that we do.

We are looking forward to regular meetings for learning and mutual encouragement and invite anyone who is interested to join us. Our next meeting will be at First Congregational Church in Cheshire, CT. Rick Dacey, the senior pastor there, has graciously agreed to host us. You can get directions at http://www.cheshirecongregational.org/where.html. We'll be meeting on Thursday, April 27 at 7:00 PM. If you have any questions about the CT cohort, you can contact me, Tim Oslovich, at oslovich@hotmail.com. Also, please let me know if you'll be joining us so that we can be prepared for the right number of people. While Emergent has attempted to be a flat, open and "non-agended" organization, this should not lead one to believe that it has not been organized or that much work has not gone into creating events, arranging publishing, coordinating the website, making connections between people, etc. There have been many people involved in this effort.
I have had the privilege of being one who could give my time and energy.
